Astros at Stem – These Met Stains Will Never Come Out

Posted on September 7, 2007 by Craig in Series Previews

Shea Stadium

Friday, September 7, 6:10 p.m. CDT – FSN
Saturday, September 8, 12:10 p.m. CDT – KNWS
Sunday, September 9, 12:10 p.m. CDT – KNWS

The Astros are having another dogshit roadtrip, or so I hear. After several days of fucked-up satellite receivers and fucked-up blackout rules, I haven’t seen the Astros play in a week or more. But the stench is strong enough that I can smell it through the internet, so I’m just assuming dogshit roadtrip.

The cockslobber Mets have the best record in the league and the largest divisional lead. They’re much better on the road than at home this year, mainly because they get to relax at so many airports. The Puerto Rican Whore is leading the team with 27 homers, and David Wright has 26. John Maine has 14 wins, but the Astros won’t see him this series.

Also, the Stem can take their shitty blue-and-black USFL batting helmets and go pound them up each other’s asses. It’ll be like when Anna Benson was in town, but without so much lube and penicillin.Read More

Salem Wins Game 1, Tri Cities Spanked Again, Ciao = Howdy

Posted on September 6, 2007 by Duman in Bus Ride Archive

Salem took game one of the best of 3 series from Kinston 10-3.  Mitch Einertson had a two run double and Tim Torres had a sole HR.  Every Salem batter got a hit and 5 had 2.

Sergio Perez pitched around base runners in 5 of his 6 innings allowing 3 runs (only 1 earned) on 6 hits and 3 walks with 6 Ks.

Quote

“I threw a lot of off-speed stuff to get ’em off-balance,” Perez said. “They can hit the fastball. I knew I had to bring my A game.”

Lefty Polin Trinidad will be going for Salem tonight.

Tri Cities got spanked 13-2.  Brandon Barnes is in a 1-22 slump during which he has K’d 12 times.  Colin Delome is wallowing in the mire as well going 1 for his last 15 with 9 Ks.

The Astros have announced
they have signed 17 year old RHP Andrea Lucati from Italy.  He has pitched for the Italian National team in the World Junior Baseball Championship.  He reportedly throws a 90 MPH fastball and will turn 18 in January.  Looks like Greeneville fans may need to brush up on their Italian.

Oh, man. That was gruesome. At least the pain came quickly, with the Brewers scoring in each of the first 4 innings, leaving the Astros down by 11 runs before they recorded 12 outs. Bernie Brewer went through 3 pairs of slacks last night, burning friction holes in each from all the post-smokey afterglow sliding. If he still landed in the giant beer stein, Bernie would’ve succumbed to alcohol poisoning before the 7th inning stretch.Read More

Alyson’s game wrap

Man, it’s been over a year since I’ve been on a major league mound. I’ve worked hard to get back, and now with a new strong tendon replacing my frayed elbow ligament, I feel like the bionic man. Bring on the Brewers!

Okay, eight warmup pitches to my catcher Eric Munson, and I’m ready to go. Despite reading on the internet that I may be slightly hyped up for my first pitch, I think I’ll just try to throw a strike, so FB it is. That speedy secondbaseman Weeks is in the box ready to hit, so here we go.Read More
