Posted on April 15, 2008 by Duman in From the Bus Stop

Round Rock

Nick Gorneault hit his second homer in as many days, but Danny Klassen had the big hit, a 3 run walk off homer with 2 outs in the 9th to give the Express a 7-6 win.

Corpus Christi

Brad James continues to show he has adjusted to AA hitting with an impressive six innings of shutout work where he only allowed 4 hits and two walks while striking out 3. The Curious Case of the Missing Pence

Posted on April 14, 2008 by Andyzipp in Off Day

I tend to believe in sophomore slumps.  When I was a freshman in high school, thousands of grey hairs ago, I was dating one of the better looking girls in my class…she liked to kiss, and with her, I instinctively knew the buttons to push (Blasphemous Rumours, Dr. Pepper on the rocks, maybe a Monte Cristo) so that on a good night, a little hand under the shirt action would be an option. As these things tend to go, the girl faded away, and I moved on to other things, but expectations were raised.  Sadly for me, even though second base was easy to obtain with my next girlfriend, stretching it out to three was out of the question, not that I stopped trying.  What I thought was aggressive, she began to regard as creepy, which lead to not even being able to double on occasion, and so began the summer of my discontent.

Which brings me to Hunter Pence.

Farmer Pence is shocked that he was able to score Sam's panties.

Weekend Update From The Farm

Posted on April 14, 2008 by Duman in From the Bus Stop

Here is a weekend summary of the Astro’s Farm Teams.

Round Rock

Friday Night, Jack Cassel went 5 1/3 innings before allowing a base runner and the first reached on hit that the RR fan’s thought could have been scored otherwise.

Feliciano popped up to shallow right field for what appeared to be an out, but the ball was misplayed by the Express defense and landed at the feet of outfielder Victor Diaz and second baseman Ash. Feliciano ended up on second base, and the play was ruled a double, which prompted boos from the crowd.

The Express got the win with 2 runs in the 9th. The winning run was scored on a Josh Paul walk with the bases loaded.

Astros take the rubber game 5-1

Posted on April 13, 2008 by pravata in Game Recaps

For the second game, Astros pitching held down the hard hitting Marlins. Wandy had a biting curve and got 7 Ks, typically off the Marlins swinging at the curve in the dirt. His last K in the 7th was on 3 pitches. JR set up the sequence to the pinch hitter Andino, fastball outside corner, dropped the curve over and then the high fastball got him swinging. The only run the Marlins scored was in the 4th when the hard hitting Willingham knocked a fastball over the tracks.
