Chris Sampson Interview and Coverage of Saturday Workout
« on: February 19, 2007, 07:56:26 pm »
Hope this doesn't seem too spammy, but since it's slow and since I'm proud of my work I hope I can be forgiven.

I run a blog called The Crawfish Boxes and drove up on Saturday to cover the second workout for pitchers and catchers.  Got over 100 pictures, and also got in seven questions with my favorite fifth starter candidate, and maybe yours too.

Sampson Interview

I'd humbly suggest you give them a try but if not, go Astros!

I think we can let this one slip by, no harm/no foul.  But what we usually request from other websites is to inform the admins first before posting a link to the website.  We gladly and without any reservation add as many websites out there for the Houston Astros fans as we possibly can.  We enjoy other sites as much as anyone else does (and will).

But we've experience the downside as well with those wishing to prop up their site.  Spamming is the best choice of words, so thanks for recognizing this.  Also, lately, we've had stealing and underhandedness with others proping up their sites, so we've been hesitant to just relax our usually Modus Operandi of non-allowance without permission.

I don't think we have a problem here, but we do ask to be included in your desire to post links to your site on this place so there is absolutely no misunderstanding whatsoever.

Thanks.

Oh, one last thing, just a suggestion of sorts... but you may want to place a copyright on the pictures you took (or a notice), maybe just a general copyright notice for all your stuff, including your writing.  Some folks can't help themselves and will take your stuff.

I'd hate for you to have to deal with that like we've had to in the near past.

Thanks.

I definitely understand your concerns because I run into them myself.  And I would certainly understand should you decide to delete the whole post.

that having been said, I've linked to Orangewhoopass without a reciprocal link since I began in May 05.  I remember AstrosConnection, from whose ashes this site was born, and I know that it's essential reading for Astros fans, although I have never been a participant.

As far as copyright, all the work text and photos on The Crawfish Boxes is copyright SBNation as noted on each page's footer, and we got lawyers, too.

Thanks again!

go Astros!

I like lawyers, my best friend is a lawyer. A southern one, Colonel.
Everyone's talking, few of them know
The rest are pretending, they put on a show
And if there's a message I guess this is it
Truth isn't easy, the easy part's shit

Just so this thread doesn't become all about lawyers (cause I've got a pretty good idea how that is going to play out), I thought that the pictures and the interview were first rate.  Nice job.

Or we could discuss what is really important.

Setting Anna Nicole Smith (or what is left of her) aside for a moment... which recent event is more distressing?

Britney  raising her WORC (Weirdness Over Replacement Celebrity) number by another 100 points?

Or the news that Derek Jeter and A-Rod  have lost some of their ardor for one another?

And what the fuck is going on with Natalie Holloway?  I haven't heard anything in weeks.

I think Jeter is just toying with A-Rod at this point.

 "I don't have a rift with Alex."

The story ends on this brilliant backhanded compliment:

Quote:

"From Day One I've said I support Alex," he said. "The only thing I'm not going to do is tell the fans what to do. ... I don't think it's my job to tell fans to boo or not to do."

Well played, Derek. You twist that knife.
"Holy shit, Mozart. Get me off this fucking thing."

Her mom took her to a 3rd world nation, let her go do drugs and screw around with random strangers without any supervision. The expected happened... that's all. Move along, nothing to see.

Well, yeah of course, but is *THAT* what we want to do around here... prancing around like a buncha Kansas City fa... ah, you know the drill... awhoopin' and ahollerin' and slappin' each other on the behind?

Since it's the void and no one in Stros camp is doing anything interesting like bitching about how some other guy's wife wore the same dress that his wife was going to wear...

FJM sums up my feelings on Jeter pretty well
Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not "Mr. Lebowski". You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.

That article is a joke.

"Jeter, in the same games, hit .339 (19 for 56), reinforcing his image as a clutch player."

Are they serious?

I was thinking of something along the lines of an OWA pool on who gets buried first, Anna Nicole or the rapidly decomposing Godfather of Soul, what days they are likely to finally be put to rest, like that.  I didn't do it because right now it looks like the whole mess(es) could extend well into the regular season.

I know Alkie put his soul up for bidding on e-Bay a couple of years back, and I can never top that; but I am thinking about auctioning off my body to the highest bidder now, for when after I'm dead.  That way, my loved ones will be taken care of financially, while whoever won me can needlessly fight it out in court with someone over legal possession of my rotting shell.  Its a win-win.

Ah, spring is here, I can tell.  There's that certain smell in the air.
