That would only work if they could somehow convince Joe Morgan to manage the team... which I hear is really happenning this time.

At a 'Stros-Rangers game in Arlington in '05, I saw Hidalgo fall victim to the most dominant (if you're an Astros fan) or embarrassing (if you're a Rangers fan) strikeout that I've ever personally witnessed.  Not surprisingly, Roy was the death angel who delivered the misery.

Roy started him off with two fastballs, both in the mid-90s, that I'm fairly certain that Hidalgo never saw.  Then--and most Oswalt fans know where this is going--Roy came back with a 65 mph curve ball that bounced in front of home plate.  I think that Hidalgo actually swung at it twice, like in a Bugs Bunny cartoon.

Granted, Roy has made a lot of really good hitters look stupid during the course of his career.  Still, that's the best strikeout I've ever seen.

I was there. It was like 105 degrees and Roy pitched 8 innings. I could barely sit in my seat it was so deathly hot, but some how Roy managed to throw 95+ for the last two pitches of his day for the strikeout.

He lost 2-0.
Oye. Vamos, vamos.

Have you cleared this with Joe Morgan? Or is he too busy house hunting?

Ree-shard needs 2-3 months in AAA (or the Atlantic League) to convince me he's a 5th OF.

I hear Hidalgo is renting the house that Morgan never bought.  FACT!
