With Drew as its new RF, obviously Boston won't need Trot Nixon anymore. Now, I know he's probably more injury-prone than J.D. is, but he has some value.

Would anyone be willing to take a chance on Houston signing Trot?

Assuming Drew actually passes his physical, why would the Astros need Nixon? There's 5 outfielders on the roster: Lee, Taveras, Scott, Palmeiro and Lane.

Uhh, Call me crazy but I am not ready to see the Astros spend $10 Mil per season for a 4th OFer... unless you think Trot should play over Scott.  But then I would rather see that $10+ Mil go to pitching... but that is just me.

Nope, you're not crazy because I won't wouldn't spend that kind of money on Trot either, whether or not he'll start. I'd be surprised if he got that kind of money, but then again, Lugo got $34 million for 4 years.
