Pettitte's elbow

Lucas said a few minutes ago that it's a muscle strain, not the ligament he had repaired in '04.

No idea what this portends for the rest of this year, but it's definitely good news regarding his potential return next season.
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

Indeed - a potentially devastating blow that's been ignored in the general post-game meltdown.  Thank goodness.

Muscle strains for pitchers hurt like hell!  Even bush leaguers like me who threw in denial leagues hated to have the muscles in the forearm to elbow area tighten up.  You don't even think about throwing a baseball when the forearm/elbow starts to hurt like that.

And this was my issue last night.  Andy was CLEARLY grimacing, even before the lollipop to PW.  Ausmus should have been out there telling Rex to follow him.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.
