Brad Lidge has been removed from the banner on Astros.com.  At least, I'm pretty sure his face used to be up there.

He get released?

We'll see if I'm still vibrating from anger when I get to work, and maybe I'll still rant.

I thought something looked different on the banner, but I couldn't put my finger on it.

The banner in the OWA has two prominent Astros players in the far left side: Brad Lidge and Morgan Ensberg.  Do I know how to jinx a guy or what!?!?

I totally suck!

Jason Lane: Gamezone banner
Brandon Backe: Talkzone banner
Andy Pettitte: Game Recap banner
Craig Biggio: Series Preview Banner

Man, I am the one who has screwed with these guy's careers!  Did I put Roy Oswalt somewhere?  Hmmmmm...

...and I personalized my jerseys with Lidge and Ensberg at the end of the 2004 season.

Nobody Got the Energy to Rant on Clemens?
« Reply #11 on: August 16, 2006, 11:24:26 am »
Piss poor start by him.  He gave up more than half the runs in one third of the innings played.  yes Ledge blew the save and it's probably a good thing that Gar won't use him to close for now, but that was one huge hole that Clemens gave 'em to dig out from.

Oh, and Lance Berkman...0-6 with 3Ks.

You know, the Cub bullpen did a pretty good job last night.  12 scoreless innings.

Yes, and I will punch the next cocksucker who complains that because Garner didn't use Oswalt, Pettitte, Backe, or Hirsh as pinch-hitters, he got "outmanaged" or "Doesn't know baseball".

The players failed last night.  Period.

I gotta say, I was feeling concerned when Zambrano came up to bat.  All I could think of was a couple years back when he hit that homer off of Miller.  I hate him.

Wheeler, Borkowski, Burke...

Yep, that's about it.  I'll listen to arguments for Ausmus and Everett, though.

I thought the Astros pen did a good job, minus Lidge.

Do you think Ausmus still catches for Andy today?

Everett's glove is golden.

Huff was 3-5 with 2 ribs, and came this close to ending it in the 10th.  And I'd put Nieve ahead of Wheeler, but basically, the bullpen sans Lidge was nails.

Look, Scott's performance has given him a well-earned get out of jail free card, but that AB with 1st and 2nd in extras was brutal.  He abandoned the entire approach that's made him so successful.

You could feel the anxiety through the television.  Everybody seemed to lose their discipline.

The wrap-up said something like the first two Astros runs of the game were their first in 14 2/3 innings, and then they went 12 innings at the end of the game without scoring.  The June offense appears to have returned.

It's the Dead Parrot Offense, the total lack of movement was due to it bein' tired and shagged out following a prolonged squawk.  Also known as the Norwegian Blue.

I really don't know how helpfull it is going to be to have Lidge missing his spots by 3 feet in the 7th and 8th inning rather than the 9th.  The guy just plain sucks right now and is the worst pitcher in the bullpen by a large margin this season.  He should be nowhere near a close ball game, be it 7th, 8th or 9th.   I have no doubt the pain is not over.

Oooohhhh... you guys were talking about the ninth inning on then?  Nobody deserves credit then, not even Borkowski... because the Cubs were sucking as hard as the Astros were.  I was perplexed how much the Cubs wanted to give the game to the Astros and how much the local nine didn't want it.

Borkowski deserves credit for pitching well, but he didn't do anything fantastic or anything.  You expose him to different situations like the 7th or 8th and to a better bunch of hitters, and the guy's ERA will skyrocket upwards.

He's a nice long reliever, but don't think for a minute that last night he was doing anything extra special other than throwing strike and letting the Cubs get themselves out.

And I like Borkowski too... but not enough to make too much out of last nights performance.
