And so it begins...
« on: July 31, 2006, 05:19:37 pm »
-Only 6 games back of the freaking Reds (now with extra-strength Rheal Cormier)!

-Three starters who would be #1 on any other contenders (only Carpenter, Pedro, and maybe Brandon Webb and Peavy can argue)

-Luke Scott mashing, with Jason Lane safely away in AAA

-Berkman, Lamb, Huff, with Ensberg ready to come back and reclaim his job

-The best defensive SS and Catcher in the NL

At this point, I'd say Wilson sits.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

I've been wondering about that as well.  Lane will go down for Ensberg, but then someone else must be taken off the 25 to accomodate Palmeiro at the end of the week.  Scott's been hot, hate to see him go.  What has Bruntlett done lately?

Sounds good to me...I've been screaming for a RH'd power bat on our bench.

The CC is a super utility player so I'm guessing he stays.  Who still has options? Willy T, Burke (he ain't going anywhere), CC, Munson (he ain't going anywhere either)?

The best Pitch calling and smartest Catcher in NL.

THEY ACTUALLY STILL HAVE A CHANCE!!!!

Which is why I'm kinda bummed they didn't make a move.
MLB.com says there still may be more moves completed but not anounced yet.

Do we have to let Palmerio back on the team?    The circumstances are awful, but I'd rather have Scott on the team right now than Orlando.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Gotta figure they're going to stick with 12 in the pen.

I don't see how Scott could get dropped from the team, much less the everyday lineup...at least for the time being.

But someone has to go when Ensberg and Palmerio come back.

Given you have a couple guys who, at best, give you 5 innings when they start, they won't be sending down any pitchers.  At least, that's my suspicion...

The Astros are going to have to make 2 moves when Ensberg and Palmerio come back since neither is on the 25 man.
