Luke Scott
« on: July 26, 2006, 03:36:03 pm »
I wasn't able to catch the game last night and was wondering how Master-Luke looked at the plate.  I obviously saw that he was 2-4 with a double, but that doesn't necassarily mean he hit the ball hard, nor does it tell me if how he worked the count, etc.

i think you are obsessed with him, and that is not healthy. talk to your pastor about your unnatural feelings for someone you "met" on TV.
Often wrong, but never in doubt.

I thought he was the least clueless hitter in last night's ABs.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

Pastor?  Not sure that's such sage advice given their track record of late.

Seriously though, yes, I do pull for him.  Everything I've read about the guy has been positive up until you said he'd gotten a bad attitude after not making the team outta ST.  At some point he obviously dropped the attitude or he wouldn't be in the major leagues.

WI don't agree that his promotion to the majors means his attitude improved prior to the promotion.  However, he is hitting better than past opportunities, which is a plus, and he doesn't look overwhelmed anymore, at least not as much.  JD made a couple of comments about Scott, pointing out how he stayed back on a curve and did a nice job of doing what he needed to do at the plate.  The double was well hit. It's a shame they couldn't do anything with him on 2B.  That said, he's got alot to prove before anyone can discard the concerns about an attitude.

he pouted b/c he was in AAA again, and to me, it often looked like he was just going through the motions on the field. he did put up good numbers, though, and i think he is fine in the clubhouse and with his teammates. i'm sure his pout went away when he got called up.

i want him to succeed b/c i think he is a legitimate power hitter. he has to do it in the bigs now.

A-ha...gotcha...I'll see what I can do.

In the mean time...I get the feeling he is not one of your favorite players.

The double that he hit last night was on a curveball, which is nice since one of the knocks on him is that he can't hit a major league curve.

On a more serious note, why do they play Darth Vader's music for him?  Should'nt they play....oh, never mind.
