Astros will see the Return of Pedro

Martinez came down with either food poisoning or a stomach virus during the All-Star break, an illness that kept him from throwing as planned. So the Mets bumped their ace from his next start,

...is eligible to be activated from the DL today, has not pitched since June 28, when he was hit hard by the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. Given his latest setback, it's likely he won't pitch until the Mets return home a week from tonight.

That's 7/21, against, guess, just take a guess.

With Martinez still scheduled to throw a simulated game before the week's end, manager Willie Randolph set his rotation for this weekend's series with Houston and said Martinez would not be in it. Orlando Hernandez and rookies John Maine and Mike Pelfrey will.
