What about 2nd?

If Morgan is going to hit like a top of the lineup guy, why not try him up there? Just thinking...

He's not hitting like a top of the lineup guy, he's hitting like a bottom of the lineup guy.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

bat him 8th. he'll turn the lineup over.

he should just leave the bat in the dugout.

He's been drawing walks an scoring a few runs, which is the only thing saving his ass.  But your #2 guy should be a contact hitter, a bat handler who doesn't strike out much.  That is not Ensberg.  You're arguing that his OBP is better than your leadoff or #2 guy; therefore, he's hitting like a top of the order guy, but I'm not sure I'd agree with that.

A lobotomy would do wonders for Morgan.

It's funny. This is the Morgan I expected last season. I fully expected him to be the "Redding" of 2005. At this point, it looks like I was only a season off. I still think he'll turn it around just in time for the Astros to go on another late-season run.
phew. for a minute there, I lost myself

You're right - I shouldn't have said hitting like a top of the order guy, I should've said watching pitches like a 2 hitter. It just seems to me if they're not going to sit him and he's not gonna hit, might as well take advantage of him getting on base (as you said, he's scoring some runs now - if lamb, berkman, wilson were behind him he might be scoring some more).

He's been drawing walks an scoring a few runs, which is the only thing saving his ass.

Let's not get confused.  He ain't Adam Everett.
