Rice is just better than everyone else.  If they don't step on the collective dick (like they almost did tonight), I can't see anyone beating them.  The have the horses and they have the depth.

The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Clemson and UNC have the arms to give them a run for their money, but I agree that this is the Owls' tournament to lose.  Go Rice!

Agree about UNC's pitching.  They're 2-0 and haven't used their two best pitchers yet.  Clemson's in a tough spot.

He started (5 IP) the last game of the regional against Baylor.  I wonder, though, with the fact that Graham started St. Clair last night, if he's available to go more than an inning or two (if that).

Well, Andrew Miller is their best, and he pitched against Fullerton in the opener.  They do still have Bard, though.

You probably won't see St. Clair until he starts game 2 of the championship, should Rice get there.  

And, Savery didn't pitch against Oklahoma in the SRs.  Graham went with Bell and Crow instead (neither of whom was very impressive).  I wonder if that means Savery is hurting again.

Probably means Savery is hurting then. Heard this morning on the radio that Crow is likely to start the next game.  If he wasn't that impressive in his last outing and is pitching on less rest, I would conclude that Savery isn't an option for long work.

Tough sledding for the overall #1 seed.

That reminds me... when was the last time the overall #1 seed won the CWS? I know Texas was #1 when they lost to CSF two years ago, but Tulane went 1-2 last year and FSU didn't even make it past the Supers in 03. Not sure who was #1 overall in 02, but I know it wasn't Texas.

Sorry, I meant that I wondered if Savery would be available for more than a few innings.  Sounds like he, at least, thinks he will be.
