Who knows what that means. My second reaction was that he said he showed up late, but that's just one of many possible and equally probable interpretations of that statement.

I think it means they opened up the ice cream in a mini-batting helmet stand early and he made a detour instead of stretching.

We wer observing him from the Terrace Deck on opening day. He was having in depth conversations with any and everyone near-by. When no runners were on and the first base coach wasn't nearby, his glove and him were having a running argument over the pros and cons of Ranch flavored Sunflower Seeds.

The guy is obviously nuts;  there are no cons of ranch flavored sunflower seeds.
