I guess it's true that the guy has struggled with his weight for a long time. I thought it was shocking when he showed up to spring training sporting three chins after getting the biggest contract in Red Sox history back in the 90's, but he actually expects people to pay for that? For shame, Roger. For shame.

I'm concerned that a lot of his pitches will be fat.  But at least he won't leave anything over the plate.

Clemens has an agreement with the Red Sox. Did not say when he will sign but an agreement has been reached. Even some New York media outlets are stating sources say Clemens is not going to sign with the Yankees because he has reached a deal with another team. Guess no more talk with the Astros?

Your first post indicates it's a fact.  Your Internet search should have told you it was bullshit, yet you link to a article that was written about 150 days ago.  Pretty fucking lame Ed.

Edited to add: You got blasted on the other board, so you want to try it over here?  Did you hear it today, or yesterday when you posted on the other board?  I think you're just making shit up to see what kind of response it gets.

Epstein chats live with Red Sox Nation
General manager fields questions from RSN members

Base_Ball_2: Any updates on bringing Roger Clemens back?

Epstein: As the Hendricks brothers have indicated, Clemens has not yet decided whether he will pitch again. Given that, there's really nothing anybody can say at this point. The media will continue to speculate, of course.

Debbie added that the family would have the right to terminate the contract at any point, however, should Clemens ever get caught cheating.

You didn't attribute this to the radio in your initial post. And which radio station was it? Where? Who said it? Which New York media outlets were you referring to? Was it reported as fact or rumor? You stated it as fact. This isn't a rumor mill. If you state something like this here, you need to be able to back it up, and not just with "I heard it on the radio" and posting a news piece several months old.

Actually, I loved that the "closest thing he could find" was an article from five months ago.  Not only is he an idiot, not only is he a troll, but he also hasn't picked up a newspaper, surfed the web, or watched anything baseball related since 2005.

Which radio station were you listening to? The Link  Perhaps they'll be repeating their scoop about Clemens signing.  We might all be able to listen.  How is it that only you have the story?  I've checked most of these Connecticut newspapers, The Link  none have the story.

It would be best if you confined your unattributed misinformation to the other 2 Astros boards that you originally typed this in.  They might put up with this bullshit.  We do not.

"With respect to"... not as a display of respect, as you seem to read it, but meaning "in relation to".

This still doesn't solve the fundamental problem: you've been shown the contradictory evidence before, at other sites, and yet ran in here proclaiming what you thought you heard to be gospel truth.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

Respect -- If I have misguided you guys, that's fine. But you have to show respect to receive it. Most of you have approached this like a 12 year old school girl with your childish replies. If you think I'm wrong, simply state that, these responses show maturity level is lacking:

homer: I'd keep a close eye on your spleen tonight. Lame.

Jim R:hey, Ed. go fuck yourself, and stay off of this site.

Those comments weren't made by me. Take that up with the people who made them. (And as for the spleen comment, that wasn't an insult, it was a reference to something that I have a sinking feeling you're about to find out about.)

I've asked you several questions regarding what you posted. I didn't insult you or use profanity. Instead of responding to my post complaining about names other people have called you, why don't you just answer my questions?

Or answer Pravata's: what radio station were you listening to when you heard the rumor you posted as fact yesterday?

A big fucking lie? I simply tell you guys what I hear on a radio station and you say I'm fucking lying?

Listening to some tunes on The Hit WKCI and between songs they announce it.  Would you like me to call up the radio station and cuss him out because he's a big fucking liar?

But that's not how you initially presented it. You wrote it as fact, subsequenrly saying you heard it on the radio, and then after a lot more hemming and hawing, say you heard it on WKCI, whom Pravata is probably on the telephone with right now.

Can you not see that this smacks of rumor-mongering?

Thank you for being mature about it. But I did just answer it, WKCI.

He can call them if he wants, that's fine with me. Sorry I presented my statement in the wrong manner. I'll watch closer next time.

WKCI, was this yesterday?  I am also assuming that when you typed "Rhode Island and Boston area radio stations..." (at astrosdaily) you were quoting WKCI, which has no sports program, see  The Link reporting that they heard this from other sources. Also there is no report in the New Haven paper The Link they do have a sports writer. Quick check of Boston Herald, Boston Globe, I find no mention of any such rumor.  Can you explain why this might be?

It's all a matter of credibility, or lack thereof. We get a lot of people posting here for the purpose of stirring up trouble.

WKCI's format has been "Top 40" since 1979.  So you really think that a New Haven, CT Top 40 station is the source that's going to break the news about Clemens career plans or lack thereof?

I wonder if there's anything to the fact that WKCI could be pronounced "wacky."

You got 30 replies 2 days ago on another board clarifying this for you.  Maybe you should have learned from that experience?
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

I suspect he's a craptomaniac.  He knows what he's doing is wrong, but he's just crying out for attention.

I told you I simply stated my comment incorrectly. I did not intend to say this is what is actually happening, just another rumor in the pile. No need to drag this on...Let's talk baseball.

Bollocks to that.  I want to hear more of  WKCI's "Total Access" Chaz and Mike's scooperific morning buzz about Clemens.
