I was trolling through archive.org today, and I came across
this little nugget from 2002. It seems that AstrosConnection.com (a.k.a. the Big Freight Train), which as most of us know was the forerunner to the modern-day OWA, was begun in 1996. Now that was 2 years or so before I happened to come upon it, but it seems that sometime this year (perhaps even sometime this month or next, given the reference to Scott's graduation) will be the 10 year anniversary of the creation of the ol' BFT.
So, I just thought I'd take a moment to reflect on a decade of the AC/OWA experience, and I'd like to thank Kev, Scott, and their successors (including the current group of OWA admins) for the time, energy, and knowledge they've dedicated to creating a place for me and thousands others to completely waste our time and avoid doing any work whatsoever.
We vicariously live through men who get paid to play a game. They use a stick and a ball, and they run around in circles, and we are obsessed with it. AC/OWA feeds and nurtures that obsession, and for that I thank you.
Thank you for supporting my obsession and my procrastination.
