So-does that mean the Astros-Cards game on Thursday is not in HD?

Interesting, they're all away games.  Wonder why that is?  Anyway, thanks for the info.  Baseball in HD is nearly (but not quite) as good as football in HD.

What I've always wished they would do is set up a completely separate set of cameras for HDTV baseball broadcasts.  If I was doing it, I would set up a camera shot from behind the catcher to take advantage of the wide-screen HD capabilities.  Then it would be just like watching a game from the stadium.  It'll never happen though.  People are too used to watching nothing but a shot from behind the pitcher 80% of the time.

I need to make a small correction.  David Barron reported that TWC will show the HD games on ch. 302 (Listed in the guide as "STROD"),  Not 299 IN-HD2.  The first one is Wednesday night.

For the Austin folks who may be interested, the TV listings have Wednesday's game in HD for our market as well - Time Warner ch 1604.  If you go by Fox Sports' HD page, however, Wednesday isn't listed under FSSW, though quite a few others are.  I haven't found either source to be completely accurate in the past, so I guess we just have to wait and see.

There is no doubt that the games listed for May will be shown in Houston (can't speak for other areas).

From David Barron's column:

Quote:

Time Warner Cable will air five Astros games in HDTV this month on channel 302. The games are Wednesday at Los Angeles, May 26-27 at Pittsburgh and May 29-30 at St. Louis. ...

Another change, lets hope it's the last.

The "new" HD schedule is listed on the FSN site  Link .  I don't know if the Houston area will get all of the Rangers games, but I don't see why they wouldn't show the Rangers vs.  Astros games.

Yup, me too (Time-Warner, channel 1604).  Although the channel info at the bottom of the screen claimed "MLB Baseball" (rather than "Off-Air", as it usually does).
