I'd like to thank...
« on: April 12, 2006, 07:11:51 pm »
All of the Clarks for producing today's highly entertaining threads.  Truly, there hasn't been such a display of childishness, self-righteousness, and idiocy in a very long time and I for one thank you.  I forgot what idiots there are out there.

Everyone has to start somewhere. Were you not a Clark once? If this is the attitude towards new members, is it any wonder not many get beyond this status before they seek pastures new?

As a Clarkette...

I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. Sure my nick is completely uncreative, but that's because my memory is nonexistant and I don't think I'd remember it otherwise!

Anyway, I've been a 'Stros fan since the late 80s (though I don't remember much prior to recent years). I'll admit right off the bat that I'm clueless when compared to most of you about baseball...at least at analyzing, so I hope you guys will bear with my insanely stupid questions.

I've got to say, though, that as a postless (until this point) Clarkette, some of the other Clarks don't understand that you don't come into a community insulting people. That *NEVER* goes over well. You're a group of informed, smart, funny, wiseasses. My kind of people!

On a similar note to my last post, if that is the case, then why the need to start threads like this. Yeah, top quality material.

I'm glad you recognize your posts are similar but you'd have to be pretty dense not to recognize that.  So far all you've shown a penchant for is whining (4-4 by Biz' count).  If you're personally insulted by the thread, then it's purpose is revealed.

I would like to go on record as stating that, it's just preposterous to expect intellectual gain by responding to critcism with something like the following:

"eye thank yew are a stupit idiot who need to grow up and get mature... then u need to go and tell you're mommy that u've been playing on her 'pooter a gain and pleed for fourgivness... and stuff... then mabey you can get date with real girl and everthang... and crud like that, because your inmanure."
Everyone's talking, few of them know

What prompted me? To be honest I got annoyed w/ fellow clarks besmirching our clarkiness w/ stupid ass bandwagon rhetoric that doesn't even make sense if you pay attention to the club any time other than, say, the playoffs.

Like, say, the Drayton is satan and he's a pennypincher to boot(!) line of thought. Or the excessive 'I'm being crucified just because I'm a newbie and not an insider' mentality.

Some of these clarks have huge persecution complexes going on. Either that or enormous egos they haven't earned with... Ummm...anything? If you're going to have an ego, c'mon, at least be smart. Or have something to add to the discussion. If you have nothing to add, don't post!

I guess I just felt I had something to add, finally.

Oh man, that is just wrong.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

I usually only visit this board at "work", but I had to return this evening to see how my new friends were doing.  Looks like 1 decent new clark and at least four sub-par Clarks.  1 for 5, a .200 average is above Dave Clark (the clark) average, but wait, how many post did these sub-pars have and what did they add.  Yep, probable around .100 decent material added by clarks today, so it was a very clarkian day.

Nate's right - today was some damn funny reading. Yes, everyone was a Clark once (actually, technically that's not true, but I get your drift), but you're confusing an aversion to dipshittery with a general dislike of new folk. I don't like people who are dipshits, whether they're new or old. And I saw some incredible dipshits today. Or, more likely, one dipshit with a bunch of logins.

Regardless, this place is what it is, people here act how they act, and that's not going to change. If you don't think it's entertaining, move along. If you dig it, stay. But there's really no point in coming into a party and hanging around the punch bowl all night just to tell everyone that you think they're acting like assholes. The night's young, and there's probably another party down the street...

When I started I had a face like a pepperoni pizza... seriously, JimR called me stupid for 2 entire days. You know why?  BECAUSE I WAS.  Prince of Heck, look him up, would have made you cry.  Literally.  If you stick around and don't act like an enormous San Diego (that's German for Whale Vagina) you will learn more than you care to know about the Astros.  You'll fart more than your friends know about the Astros. (See for instance the thread "because of tonights rainout...")

Billy Wagner=I was so glad when he got traded.  Yeah, yeah, I know.  Hard throwing lefty.  blah blah blah.  Hated him since the first Astros game I saw in the Astrodome he blew the save for Kile.

My first post was during a HD war.  It was crazy.  I will admit to being scared to post.  Now, I don't care what most of you hot looking guys think.

Oh, and in case anyone has forgotten.  I love Bradley, have a fondness for Bruntlett, hate Lane.

Now why the hell didn't I think of that.  To tell you the truth, most of these snapperheads flame out way before loosing clark status.  I was a clark.   I had been reading AC almost since its inception. I decided to post and got my ass handed to me by Noe, Fog, etc.  I finally got the Fuck Off from Jim.  I did not post for many months after that short burst.  I went back and read what I had posted and saw how damn stupid it was.  So yes, most of us were Clarks too, but the ones that usually stick around long enough to receive different status are not the cocksuckers.  Quality of Quantity.
