I think he just introduced Mariano Rivera as "Mario Mendoza".

I'm certain of the second part... I have no idea if it's Rivera, he just said "one of the best relievers of all time".

Actually, I think it was Mendoza. I was listening to the ESPN announcers and that's what I heard.
