Batting Cages

Where are some of the batting cages here in Houston?  The only one I can remember is the Celebration Station on 59.

I think there are some indoor ones off Clay Road near Highway 6.  That's pretty far away for most people, though.

I'd call first, but Oaks Batter Up is off 290, 713-957-2323.  Haven't been there in years and years.  The Sports House 9606 Hillcroft is pretty nice, and this time of year will be crammed with little leaguers.  713 977 6787.  It's not far outside the loop.

Baseball USA, Kempwood and Beltway 8, next to Houston Christian HS.  Clemens former HS baseball coach runs the place...alot of former big leagers and Minor leagues teach lessons there too.

I believe that is a "dry" establishment.  Celebration Station is more our speed as (a) it serves beer; and (b) the fucked up machines better prepare us for the pitching we'll see in OWA Softball.

If you're just looking for a good time with shitty bats and pitches, celebration station may suit your needs.  Baseball USA may be your best bet if you're looking for something more serious.

Oh yes, absolutely.  I haven't been to baseball USA in a long time, but they used to have a real problem with the automatic machines jamming.

I haven't been there in a while either.  They've put a lot of money into that complex; hopefully their machines are better.  Doesn't sound like it matters, though.  Since beer must be had, sounds like Celebration Station is the winner.

The only way to ensure its safety would be to place it in the middle of the strike zone.  It would then stand no chance of being hit.

Celebration station is no longer called by that name. I used to bowl in the alley next to it, and when I drove by a few weeks ago, the "fun" spot of celebration station was named something else, but it seemed to be the same place as always. The batting cages there were always fun. I only hit at the softball ones because one out every nine pitches would hit me, no matter where I stood in the batters box.

Baseball USA has some fun batting cages also. The one time I went, only the baseball cages were operational (it seemed about 60 mph). The pitching machines worked fine, but only two worked at rhe time, both hardball.
