Ok so we got the bat (Wilson) and we got our lefty out of the bullpen (Miller).

Where do we get the starter Pup was planning on?  Wait for Roger, or try to find somebody else.  Weaver? Cost too much? Not any better than anyone we currently have on the roster?

Maybe Miller is better now, but didn't he used to suck?

I don't understand why people are bemoaning this signing, Miller has had three straight years of 60+ appearances, a 4.06 ERA, with a 2.92 ERA in 29 games after the ASB in 2005, and a 3.12 ERA in 2004. Not bad for a guy pitching in the AL East. Plus, he will be the 5th or 6th option out of the pen, and the money is well below what other relievers are signing for.

No kidding. If the guy isn't a shut-down type reliever he sucks.  Give it a rest, not everyone is a closer.  All the guy will be asked to do is hold the line when he enters the game and be used, occasionally, as the lefty specialist.  Gallo was not any better and at least they have more than 1 lefty in the pen now, assuming Gallo stays around.

I don't know.  I just keep asking myself why is this fucker on the team again.  This is one of those situations when I think surely someelse else could pitch just as well for a whole lot less (the jackal perhaps).

Unless he has improved in the past 2 seasons......he really sucked in his last stint with the Stros.  Retrieve that file from long-term memory.....yep....he was the one serving those gophers.

I'm sure he is much better now.....much better....hence the reason he was still available now even though he is a LEFTY!! ;P

Not too bad with TB the last 2 years.  Seems like walks are his biggest hurdle: The Link

"Astros finalized a one-year agreement with left-hander Trever Miller worth $1.3 million with a vesting option for 2007,"

astros.com:

In the year and two months they've been working together, manager Phil Garner has been begging general manager Tim Purpura to give him two left-handed options in the bullpen...."We've been looking for a lefty reliever to come in and stabilize our bullpen," Purpura said. "This gives Phil a lot of versatility. I talked to Phil last night and he's really pleased to have another lefty on board. It'll give him the ability to maybe use one lefty a little early in the game, another lefty later in the game."

Unrelated, from the same article:

"Jeff Bagwell's trip to Birmingham later this week may be postponed... it's likely Andrews' appointments have been put on hold until further notice."
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"
