He was, for at least a brief time.

I imagine we'll hear more about what the heck was going on him soon.  Weird story.

What kind of idiot robs a jewelry store at gunpoint and then goes to a public restaurant to eat?

Just goes to show that one should always read the label:

"Reardon had a 20-year-old son who died of a drug overdose in February 2004, which "has been very difficult for him and his family," and has been on medication for depression. Reardon, who is married and has two other children, also underwent a heart angioplasty last week and has been taking medication for that."

"Reardon, who made more than $11.5 million in his career, according to baseball-reference.com, was not having financial problems."

Pretty sad story.

Hilarious.

My first thoughts when I read the story were that he did it to support a drug habit or remedy financial problems.  That seems to not be the case and makes this totally bizzare. I am curious if his status as a former big leaguer will help him or hurt him when the case goes to trial.

Being released on $5000 bail sounds like they don't think he's much of a flight risk, or a danger to the community.  I would guess they might allow him to plead guilty to a non-violent offense (felony theft), and he might get probation (as a first time offender).

Maybe I just wouldn't make a very good armed robber.  Reminds me of that line in Shawshank Redemption when the young kid is bragging about doing time in all the "joints"

"I did it 'cause of the drugs." Any ol' crack-head will tell you the same thing. I think it was the voices in his head. Or he listened to Judas Priest a lot in the late '70s early 80s. Maybe he was sexually abused as a child and is ashamed to admit it.

One must be careful looking around on the internet for this stuff.  I just inadvertantly came across a  nude picture of  Lily Munster which may screw me up for some time, especially when I'm watching TV Land.

OTOH, now I'm beginning to see why Herman always walks around with that stupid grin on his face.

Yvonne DeCarlo was a stone-cold fox in her day. I think I want to go out and find a copy of "Slave Girl." Caroline Jones was more of an earthy beat-nick type chick, who would be fun to party with but Yvonne was a real beauty. So my vote goes to Lilly. And Ginger.

Well, after further review... I've never much been into goth chicks, but I have to say I'd give Ms. Munster a whirl.  I may not have -- in terms of size and structural rigidity -- whatever Herman has bolted on down there; but on the other hand, I'm not green, nor do I have a stupid looking flat-top.

(BTW, am I the only person who, when asked the burning question, 'Whatever happened to  Marilyn?', immediately thinks of  Mary Kay LeTourneau?)

Anyway, as far as '60s sit-com moms go,  Carol Brady wins going away, right?

I may have mentioned once before, I've had this ongoing fantasy since I was about nine, of me and Mrs. Brady and a bottle of Wesson Oil, and a tarp on the living room floor... and when we're done, Ms. Brady pours the oil off the tarp back into the bottle and says, 'Look!  We only used one tablespoon!'

But I digress...
