Wow, there's a lot of stupid money being thrown around this offseason on mediocre pitchers.  The owners have no one but themselves to blame...

I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

Yeah, boy. When I think Kenny Rogers, I think veteran leader.

What's the problem with Rogers? Other than his roughing up the cameraman last year, I don't know of anything which reflects negatively on his personality. As far as I know, the cameraman incident was just a bad day.  Please enlighten me.

I don't think that was 'just a bad day.' It was his surlyness that had been brewing for weeks that led to his outburst.

I was under the impression (although I don't have googles to back it up) that he's sort of a clubhouse loner. I may be wrong. Point me to his leadership skills, please.

He also walked in the winning run on 4 pitches in a World Series that his team ultimately lost.  Of course, such things could tend to make one have a testy attitude towards the media...

I'm basing this on having lived in Dallas over the past 7 yrs...

That's just the thing, Rogers was never a story, outside of his most recent pitching performance.  The guy was literally the quiet top-dog of a weak rotation.  The only notable attribute about Rogers stories was he was the only reliable starter and his on again/off again relationship with the Rangers.  He had 3 stints with the team and his return was never considered risky until now.

Well for starters roughing up the camera man isn't having a bad day, its assault. Most people actually get through their entire lives without roughing up someone; especially someone who is posing no threat and is only doing what he has a right to do when and where he has a right to do it. Don't get me wrong - nobody holds the media in lower esteem than I do, but this was completely indefensible.
Continuing, Rogers is a coward. I guaranfuckingtee you if that camera man had been 6'4", 250, Rogers would have given him a wide berth. The camera man that he roughed up is a lttle bigger than Mini-Me but not much.
Also, the word is that Rogers is a stupid motherfucker - just plain old country dumb.
He may earn his money from the Tigers, but he will still be an asshole.
E come vivo? Vivo.
