Reds trade Casey to Pirates for left-hander Williams

Associated Press

PITTSBURGH -- The Cincinnati Reds reached a preliminary agreement Tuesday night to trade first baseman Sean Casey to the Pittsburgh Pirates for left-hander Dave Williams, a deal that addresses each team's biggest need.

The deal is subject to players passing physicals, an official on a team involved in the trade said, speaking on condition of anonymity because the swap had not been finalized.

I guess Adam Dunn will move to 1B.
Everyone's talking, few of them know
The rest are pretending, they put on a show
And if there's a message I guess this is it

Good for the Bucs if he can stay healthy.  Now he and Twinky can continue to battle it out for the NL Central Chatty Cathy Award.

I did hear one rumor about Griffey getting moved to first, which would make the most sense, as it would probably keep him on the field for more games.

My guess is that this should remove all hope of working a trade for a bat with the Reds. Dunn or Griffey at 1B and the rest of them in OF.
phew. for a minute there, I lost myself
