They even here rumors of the Cubs sending strikeout machine Corey Patterson to the Marlins for Juan Pierre.

The noose they have put themselves in will loosen after this season. That noose is the combined money they are spending (or will spend) on Jeff Bagwell, Lance Berkman, Roger Clemens, Roy Oswalt, and Andy Pettitte.

Sometimes I feel guilty calling their situation a mess, but there is really no way to describe it.

Noose? Mess? It wasn't a noose when these guys were signed, and it wasn't a mess when we were watching the World Series Game 3 at MMPUS. Now that the Astros actually have to pay these guys, its a noose. Dick.

As bad as his write-ups are, and they are fucking horrible, his daily posts on the message board over there are even worse.

Or does he mean "The noose in which they have put themselves...".  No gold star for Barzie.

I know it's the off-season, but do we really need to have an article picking apart Barzilla every time he shits out another screed?  Just post  ibid. next time and save us the time.

Unfortunately, it's become a kind of group ritual around here, like screaming "Whoop" or squeezing one's own balls at a college football game.

I'm not sure who's worse: the guy who publishes his own, really bad ideas, or the monkeys who rush to mock him for doing so?

P.S.  Love the Soda Popinski avatar, but let's be honest--the Sandman was the shit.

For the record...I do both.

No kidding. The first couple of times it happened, it was like watching a trainwreck. Now, we expect the trainwreck, so where's the originality?

Hey, I have not made a single reply and that person mentioned Ausmus.

(I do wish Ausmus would sign already!!!!)
