Watching Aaron Neville sing "God Bless America" during Game 3 or John Secada perform the National Anthem last night?

Since I didn't pay attention to either one, I can honestly say, neither.

I don't mind listening to Aaron Neville, but good Lord, he has a face for radio. I kept waiting for his conjoined twin to harmonize. The cello was nice, though. John Secada... never heard of the guy before. Was he experiencing labor pains at the time?

I thought he was having a seizure.  The best part was fox panned to HW right after the anthem and he was clapping and smiling and remarking to someone about the performance.  haha, old people..

How about Pedro Martinez goofing around like a 12 yr old while Edward Jame Olmos was solemnly reading the salute to the Hispanic players?

Doesn't Commander Adama read everything solemnly? It was meant to be a celebration wasn't it? Thought Pedro was having fun.

Pedro had a great suit.  And A-Rod was fussily straightening out the name plates, making sure that they were in perfect alignment.  A-Rod then gave Mo some pointers about how to come up with the clutch hits.

I think Secada was trying to impersonate Neville. Badly.

Secada, by far.

I think Olmos was trying to generate gravitas; then here comes the double-pointing jeri-curled one in that suit.

Like Alex "Don't call me Slappy" Rodriguez in his $5,000 suit blowing bubbles during the Star Spangled Banner?

I have no problem with Pedro having fun with it. If I ever get picked to the fat alcoholic bastard legends team I'll be wearing the loudest suit I can fit into and whooping and hollering until my lungs pack in. Which won't take long.

Me neither.  It was just totally out of tune with what Olmos and/or MLB was trying to do.

More money?  Or more (initially) cheap players.

Thank goodness Calvin Murphy was not a successful Latino baseball player.
