This is from Dave Goldsmith...from an e-mail I just received...a clarification of Blum and others holding up the 4 fingers...
"Couldnt post to your message board, but I thought i would clarify. The four fingers they were holding up after Blum hit his homer, had nothing to do with the sweep or anything disrespectful to the Astros, baseball or their fans. It represented "the fourth group" Which is what the WhiteSox bench players call themselves. During batting practice, the 4th group of hitters get the fewest at bats and are generally the bottom of the totem pole. They have been insulted by the chicago media calling them scrubs etc. So they took to calling themselves the 4th group... As in " the fourth group is going to win it tonight" Blum, Willie Harris, Chris Widger Timo Perez and Pablo Ozuna..."
