Question about Crede
« on: October 23, 2005, 12:48:26 am »
Okay, I know that we just lost a tough fought game but the biggest thing on my mind right now is about Crede.

I know I am taking a lot for granted by trusting the idiots at FAX but...I don't by the fact that he has two (thats right TWO) herniated disks in his back!!

After watching my father suffer for over thirty years with a back issue and my mother having to have her neck fused a few years ago...I don't by you can move that well with that injury...doesn't matter how many pain-killers and how much adreniline...

Any thoughts?

A player can function fine with herniated discs.  Some are lucky and don't suffer many effects from the injury, especially the younger guys.  The most troublesome aspect of the injury is usually the potential nerve damage that could affect the responsiveness and muscle mass in the legs.

...and a huge probobillity if the problem causing increasingly deginerating injuries in the future.

Not necessarily in the next couple of weeks, but the healing process may inhibit a long term career.

I do not wish that on the guy, by any means. He played very well tonight and was fun to watch.

The back is the part of the body that is on the opposite side of the front.

I learned that from WebMD.

Yes, it's probably safe to say that his career in the majors won't be an extended one.
Lighten up, Francis.

His discs aren't herniated. They are just rusty.

Thanks for the info...I wasn't slamming him at all.  Just thought it was curious after seeing all my parents have gone through.  Gotta give it up to him....he played a great 3rd base tonight.

I'm not saying his career will be short, just that that is a tough condition to just forget about. It doesn't seem to be holding him back in any way.

He's a stud.  It's really sad that he has a permanent back injury.
Lighten up, Francis.
