Is it just me or are there tons of clarks
« on: October 22, 2005, 11:06:32 am »
Hope you are all gennuine fans..and stay this is a great place to post. The guys who have been regulars here for years have held on never lost faith and finally see the promised land. Through the several incarniations of this site the core group has remaind strong. Be sure to pay attention to the administrators and colomn writers they are almost always dead on. They are what drew me here and allowed me to become part of this greatness. Well tonight will soon be upon us.. i know there is a lot of chicken sacrifice and cnadle burning to be done in preparation..so everyone get busy and do their part...
forever is composed entirely of nows

Yeah, but I'm a die hard Astros fan from when they were 15-30 to now. I visit this site ALLLLLLLLL the time. Whenever I come home from Astros game I always come here because I feel you guys are the only ones who truly feel my pain! I appreciate all your posts and maybe I'll begin to post more but with that being said, GO ASTROS!
Make a runnnnnnnn!!!!

I think Fredia was primarily referring to the 66 users that have registered new accounts since the Astros made the playoffs.

Quite a few Alkie, including the one that is stinking up the forum today.  Some of the guys that came on from birdsonthebat were classy.

I was registered when this was AstrosConnection, but never bothered to re-register when the Astros put the old website out of business. I've been a fan since '68, when Hector Torres, Ivan Murrell, Norm Miller, and Bob Watson broke in. I go a LOOONG way back.

I'm simply overjoyed with happiness. I never thought I'd see this day.

Well I didn't find out about this site until last postseason.  So I lurked for quite some time thereafter. The talk during last offseason was particularly great and I always love reading the series previews and the greast insight the board always shows. Above all, the absolute loyalty to the Stros is particularly the most rewardin.

As for me, been a fan since '89.  In fact, I felt a little guilty enjoying all of this postseason, since I never had to deal with '80, '81 or '86.  But I can still remember several of the guys, esp those from the '86 squad. Also remember being pissed off in '90 (was it?) that they got rid of Doran, Hatcher, and my favorite at the time, Davis.

Hope I am worthy of contributing to the board for a long time to come.

I used to only read this site and AC for the articles. Got drunk and finally registered the other day.

I was at Astros Connection on and off, but I don't remember whether I was ever registered. Been a fan since I was a little kid in the very late seventies. My most serious years as a fan were probably about 84-90, but I've never lost the faith. Now I live in Houston (rather than the SA/Austin area) and was able to go to more games and a playoff game. I think I popped back in sometime during the playoffs and was finally driven to register by victory - I needed some real fans to commiserate with.  I spend most of my nerdy internet shit talking time arguing about records on similar music message boards. Y'all get big props for keeping this going so well. Victory is so alien, it's almost weird, but it suits us. I could get used to this.

I've been reading this board for a while now. I'm fed up with places like AstrosDaily.

I love the way things are done around here.

Go Astros.

Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have any white onions, because of the war; the only thing you can get was those big yellow ones.

I had a big one at the time, but had to paint it yellow so I didn't stand out too much.

I sure hope that the sound I just heard was my sarcasm detector going off.
News that is sufficiently bad somehow carries its own guarantee of truth.  Only good reports need confirmation.

When they were 15-29, he was mildly interested in the team.  But after that 30th loss, man... INSTANT die hard fan.
