$2,118 for two tickets to Game Four behind the plate, but at the top.

Anyone doing any better than this?  If so, where'd you go?

Three scenarios as I see it.

1) We lose two in Chicago.  Tickets plummet.  $500 for the seats we just bought.

2) We win both in Chicago.  Tickets go for $3,000 for SRO.

3) We split in Chicago.  Tickets are the same or 5% higher than today with everything thinking "wow, they COULD do it!"

Two of those don't help me.  We didn't want to chance it.

3 seats $250 behind the dugout from a guy off Allen Parkway.  I know, I couldn't believe it..what a deal.  Said he'd had these for a year now and would cut me a deal.

You made out like a bandit.

I'm STILL enjoying my "seats on the 35" for the Sugar Bowl between the Horns and Hokies.

If by 35, the nice man meant 35th "parallel" and not "yard line."

Depending on where you want to sit (or stand), I've seen cheaper on Stub Hub.

Over $7K per to sit in the club level???

Holy.  Fucking.  Shit.

Totally insane.

Man, you should have seen what I've seen for these seats all day.

$2118 was a STEAL.

I saw the same section, 2 rows HIGHER this morning for $4600.

Look.  I'm behind the plate for Game Four of the Astros World Series.  In 20 years, we'll all look back at $2000 for WS tickets and laugh our asses off.

Last night my dad told me what they paid scalpers for 2 tix to the YANKEES/DODGERS series (!!!) in 1981.  Hilarious.

($52 per ticket)

I don't know...

2 upper level tickets behind home plate for game 4 - $1500
2 upper level tickets behind home plate for game 5 - $1500
2 night's at a Comfort Inn of all places - $325 - what a rip off!
Roundtrip airfare from ATL to HOU for two - $210 - Thank God for frequent flyer miles.

Getting to experience your first World Series, one that happens to include your favorite team's first appearance in such an event - Priceless...or insane as you said.  It's definitely one of the two.

Alkie:  Made a deal with a guy on EBAY...he wanted $3,200 but knocked off $200 since I was buying both games.  I actually felt like I got a good deal after seeing prices elsewhere and talking to different ticket brokers. SRO were going for $750/ticket yesterday.  I'm in section 422...what about you?  I have not seen a game from that level but am guessing the view is not as bad as some might think it would be.

Exactly Alkie.  I went back in forth on it but figured that I'll be kicking the shit out of myself down the road for not doing it.  7 years ago, it hurt me to spend $50...then a little later it was $100...now it's a 500.  I just blew the shit outta that but I also know it's worth it.

Those are good seats, great view of every play. I usually sit thereabouts when I go, but I'm poor.

No way.  Which Comfort Inn??

I'm in 415 for Game Four, where we sat for the NLDS.  Just offset to the plate.  Behind it, but staring down the 1st base line.  We saw everything.

Let's see, it's the Comfort Inn & Suites Greenway.

I'm glad to hear that about the seats...you've got the same seats, just on the opposite side of the plate.

No.  Fucking.   Way.

Howdy neighbor.

I'm telling you right now, I HAVE to spend the days doing work in the room and not fucking off.  I'm sure you have plans anyway, but that's crazy.  Must be, what, 4000 hotels in that city?

I'd normally be stunned, but judging by the luck I had today looking for a room, I'd say that 3900+ of those hotels are vacated solid.  Very cool though...you bringing anyone, or just yourself?

My wife.  If I went to the Series without her, I could bother not coming home.

We may have a car, actually.  If so, if we drive, we'll split the parking.
