Managerial ejection
« on: October 16, 2005, 09:17:47 pm »
So when LaGenius gets tossed, where does he go?  What can he do?  Can he sit on the cell phone and make pitching changes, etc.?  Who watches him (if anyone)?  Does he have to just watch the game on TV like the rest of us but in a sealed room (presumably with the sound down so he doesn't have to listen to FAX announcers).  Does he sit in the clubhouse with a Bobby Valnetine 'tache and send a runner in to direct action?  Is their bench coach really making all the decisions at that point?

he is sitting in the tunnel just out of sight running the game as usual.
Often wrong, but never in doubt.

that's what I figured and I think that stinks.

If he's ejected, he should be escorted out of the dugout and have no further impact on the game.  Otherwise, what's the point?

Why did Garner go out there right after Larussa was ejected?  I was wondering if he was asking the umpire about keeping Larussa out of the tunnel.
