I'm not in pain.  I'm not a fucking loser.  Bringing your weak "woe is me" shit on a tough night like tonight is just fucking insulting.  Go sulk somewhere else.

Well, if you are picking a fight, calling people you do not know names on an internet board where we are all supposed to be friendly or at least polite ---- then you'll have to square the circle with who is the loser here.

In my estimation, we are all losing --- -and sulking is a part of it.  You can sanitize everything here HH, even though we are grateful for your humor and play by play

Good night.

Already got that one pegged.

Again, fuck off with your bullshit.  You may feel like losing is in your DNA, but I'm proud to be an Astros fan, and support them through thick and thin.  Go root for the Cubs if you feel that way.

To add a little levity, the best moment from the broadcast team tonight just occurred. The camera panned over drunken Astros revelers who are apparently too cocked to realize the outcome and happened to scan by exactly the type of woman I hope AB encounters over the next 36 hours... picture April Bigcannons from East Bound and Down. She gives a little shimmy for the camera and a hot mic pics up a “woah” from Smoltz (I think, not positive). I rewound and confirmed the “woah” though. Anyways, back to our present situation.

The Astros better use the plane ride to D.C. to pull their heads out of their ass.  If they are firing on all cylinders, they are capable of winning four out of five against any team, even one playing as well as the Nationals right now.  The offense especially needs to sack up and figure out what ails it.  You can’t ask your pitching staff to be perfect every night in the playoffs to have a chance to win.

Gerrit Cole and Justin Verlander are the first teammates to each win 20 games during the regular season but lose Games 1 and 2 of a World Series since Don Drysdale and Sandy Koufax of the Dodgers in 1965 against the Twins.

The Dodgers would recover to win that series in 7 games.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Here's hoping for 2 out of 3 in D.C.

Alex Bregman failed to field an inning ending ground ball.

8 - 63 (.113) w/ RISP since ALCS Game 1.

And I think two of those hits were infield singles which didn't plate a run.  So it's more the equivalent of 6 for 63 (.095)

We were talking about this as a problem all year.  They were perfectly mediocre with RISP and 2 outs.  To have further regressed against postseason caliber pitching should not be too much of a surprise.

The current edition of the Astros won the World Series in 2017, made the ALCS last season, and are back in the World Series this season.  What happened decades ago isn’t relevant now.  What is relevant is the team needs to wake up in all phases of the game in D.C., or they will watch the Nationals celebrate a World Championship.
