Not true.  He has a good change and a good slider.

Against LA, Maldanado caled five changeups in a row for Osuna which resulted in a walkoff hr

Gonna have to get three innings from Rondon.

They need another inning from Osuna.

I doubt that Rondon can go three against these guys without giving up runs. The offense is going to have to do something, and soon.

Why? Besides the fact that he beat up his girlfriend and shot up his garage and never got charged with a fucking thing?

Bottom 9

Chapman pitching

Maldonado misses 0-1, takes a FB for a strike 0-2, fouls 0-2, fouls a 101 FB, Ks swinging over a slider
Reddick misses a slider 0-1, fouls an outside FB, pulls a slider foul, just gets a piece of another,  pops up a 100 mph FB caught by Urshela behind 3rd
Springer takes a slider for a strike 0-1, another slider is low 1-1, another bounces 2-1, takes a FB that hits the screen 3-1, walls on a high FB
Altuve takes a FB high 1-0, another is also up/away 2-0, watches a slider for a strike 2-1,
a HOMERS TO THE POWER ALLEY IN LEFT

THE ASTROS WIN THE PENNANT!!!
THE ASTROS WIN THE PENNANT!!!

Final

By the way, my profile pic was taken 15 years ago + 1 day.  Let's hope that's a good omen.  I consider that the best game I've ever attended in-person, and I was at the 18-inning game.

Chapman is a lock to be the next to play the Joker.

Check out his smile when he looks over his shoulder and again as Altuve rounds the bases.

Pressly just said on the radio it was some scar tissue that broke off, and that it's normal. Sore now, said it will probably be sore tomorrow, but he thinks he's ok.

That one hit the HR pump.

Thanks for the clarification.  I knew it wasn’t close to where Kent hit his in 2005.  That one cleared the railroad tracks above the Crawford Boxes.

Chapman is a lock to be the next to play the Joker.

Check out his smile when he looks over his shoulder and again as Altuve rounds the bases.

Sparky's clubhouse interviews are a little disappointing. So far the best thing was when he asked Jake what he was thinking when Altuve was in the box against Chapman and he said, Whether I was going to be drinking one bottle of champagne or two.

I love Jose Altuve so much. What a great player and human being!

I hope all of the Yankee fans who were chanting “fuck Altuve” Friday night, are haunted by that home run for the rest of their lives.

Well done Jose. Hats off to you sir!

Looked similar to the spot where Jose took Maeda deep in game 5 of the 2017 World Series.

Same place Ausmus tied it up against the Braves to extend the 18-inning game.  They should start putting marks on that wall where the famous homers hit.

I knew he was a native New Yorker, but was thinking he was from Brooklyn.  He's an Astro now, though.

Absolutely. If that base is open and Marisnick is on deck, there's no question they walk Altuve and take their chances with Jake.

With Marisnik on deck, I thought they might do it anyway and trust that Chapman can get him and Breggers.  I guess they decided that they didn’t want Springer in scoring position for Bregman, which makes total sense.

There were two outs.  If you get Marisnick, it ends the inning.

But if he bloops one in or there is an error, they had intentionally moved the winning run to scoring position.

That's why you don't pitch around Altuve as long as Springer is still at 1B.   Anything can happen, bloop, groundball through the legs...but if Springer is already on 2B, you put Altuve on and pitch to Marisnick.

Absolutely correct. That is why I did not want Springer to steal.

AJ said he could see Altuve ripping a slider into the vacated corner,  then it would be up to Springer to get on his horse and score from first.

Did not see if anyone asked him directly about keeping George at first but that seems clear that's why they did.

Who is left to pitch?

Rondon and ??

If the Astros hadn’t closed out their 6-4 win against the Yankees in the bottom of the ninth, Hinch was going to turn to Héctor Rondón in the top of the 10th. Aside from Rondón, rookie Bryan Abreu was the lone reliever left in the bullpen. Game 4 starter Zack Greinke was in the dugout and Hinch had reached the point of gauging how Greinke felt physically. Cole, seated to his manager’s left for most of the game, lobbied to pitch but was rebuffed because of the potential Game 7.

“He wasn’t going to let me,” Cole said. “I asked him twice during the game.”

Amid the postgame champagne celebration, Hinch joked with Rondón and Abreu that they just avoided throwing the most pitches they’ve ever thrown in their lives.
