Tucker RF
Brantley LF
Bregman SS
Yordan DH
Yuli 1B
Reddick CF
Diaz 2B
Toro 3B
Maldonado C

Miley P

Certainly an interesting lineup, especially with the off day tomorrow.
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

This is my most interesting Astros pitched game of the week.
Another trenchant comment by a jealous lesser intellect.

Miley has crappy luck.

As fast as Mondesi it, he's probably safe on that regardless.

Great job battling to K Dozier and keep the runner at 3B.

Infield hit, triple for one run

2 Ks to limit damage

1-0 KC

Miley has crappy luck.

He did not quit when he could have: 2 swinging K's w/ a runner on 3B and 1 out.

Miley gives up a leadoff walk but that's it in the 6th.

At 95 pitches he's probably done. He can sleep well tonight.

Josh left the club face open and sliced his wedge shot into left.

Mother Tucker!

Anybody here read the baseball novels of the great John R. Tunis? In them the Dodgers best player is Roy Tucker--"the Kid from Tomkinsville." (Philip Roth borrowed this character for a cameo in The Great American Novel.) Anyway, Tucker's appellation quickly condensed to "the Kid." Given Kyle's age...why not?

Meanwhile, Peen just launched a salami into a bunch of St. Louisans on a full count in the 9th inning with two down to put the Brewers three up.

Tucker stock rising.

Framber stock not so much.

2 2-out singles then a walk.   A 2 out walk with a 10 run lead.

Framber gives up a high chopper that plates a run,  then ends it with a strikeout.

Astros win 12-3.

Tied with NY.

Magic number 5.

I have made no effort to hide my bias in favor of Tucker getting his chance, but has most of his production, so far, been off AAA pitchers that are up for a look @ KC?  Looking forward to him facing more major league pitchers.

Good question.

Last season against similar competition he was an overmatched shift-feeding out machine.

I'll take what I see this season over last season no matter what the circumstances.

They'll face Lance Lynn on Tuesday but won't see minor.

Weekend probables aren't available yet. But 7 of their last 10 are vs LAA, the other 3 vs Sea.  So they're unlikely to see anything resembling Koufax in his prime.

The supposed quality of the opposing pitcher seems to have very little correlation to what the offense does. Sometimes they blitz very good pitchers, and sometimes they're completely ineffective against poor ones. They're kind of confounding in that way.
