He was inactive 8/1 for the game I worked. I wondered why.

Curious to hear what team rule he violated.  I hope it was good one.

Just saw that he was DFA'd.    As said before, should be sent to the nearest jail.

Frees up a 40-man spot.  Could Cristian Javier take that spot?  He'll need to be on the 40-man before the Rule 5 draft regardless.

For sure...the international players are the future of the astros for awhile since we won't be getting any can't miss prospects  anytime soon.

After the season 8 players are scheduled to be free agents so room will be made anyway before December.  With the other sorts of roster churning like trades and other DFA's there will be room for those worthy of being added.
Goin' for a bus ride.

ETA: was he?

According to Kaplan, the 40-man remains full. I guess the restricted list doesn't count against the 40-man?

That ain't just assault. That's battery.

With a bat, that's a felony. It may also be grounds for deportation, depending on his visa status.

Astros County has qualified his initial report with this:
Quote
About a week and a half ago I found out some things that led to Guduan getting suspended for a month. Since I wrote that, the story is maybe more complicated than that initial report, but no one is willing to talk even anonymously. Still, the story hasn't been refuted - or even addressed, really - by the Astros, Astros.com, or the Houston Chronicle.

Which may be why no charges have been filed.
