LOBster fest continues.

No score, middle of 4
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Well you don't see that everyday. Jake and Reddick both with errors on the same fly ball.

That was a fat, fat pitch too.

On his previous AB,it seems like everything snapped together: he got that 3-1 count, and then the pitch came into the middle of the zone and you could just tell by the way he started the swing that he was all over it, and sure enough, he got a hard-hit single. I was so hopeful that it was one of those moments where everything gets set right. But no....

No chance to overcome a 320 foot home run.

Tanaka has thrown at least 6 fat, right down the middle pitches since I turned the game on, and the Astros have either flailed or just watched 'em sail by.

The big hit was a ball that was about 4 inches off the ground.

Good job by Harris.  Gets the next three after the 2-run error.

Closes the book on Miley... 4 runs on 2 hits.

Watched the gamecast of the clash last night --- there were three or four major calls outside of the zone

LeMahieu getting a ball that was in the middle of the lower zone --- leading to a fucking walk

White AB where the first pitch was so far outside I had my beer come through my nose I squawked so much  -- after the called strike on the outside; White started chasing it --- leading to an easy strikeout for Ottavino

Kemp/Altuve --- called strikes out of the zone

Am I making a bigger deal about this than is deserved?  I did not see the game, so I am bitter about it ---  seemed like they got the close calls and the not so close ones.

Am I making a bigger deal about this than is deserved?  I did not see the game, so I am bitter about it ---  seemed like they got the close calls and the not so close ones.

My observation:  The ump missed calls on both sides.  We see the calls against the Astros as glaring because, well, that's our team.  I think the bigger issue with Astros hitters is not swinging at pitches they can hit early in the count or when they get into hitters counts.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Austin Fucking Romine?

This was Sparks/Ford's reaction as well.

In other words,  of course.

Thanks Hudson.... I get so reactive on Gamecast -- whereas my vision in watching a game gives a bit more grace.

As a little more clarification, the HPU in this game's strike zone was HUGE. He called a bunch of pitches well off the corners strikes.
