Worrell button/At Bat radio feed program activated.

Interesting to see if Cole can avoid drawn out ABs. They did a good job yesterday of stringing things out against JV.

I was fooled when Marwin didn't really move for that fly ball, I thought it may have been getting out.  I don't need that type of stress.

He’s had two awful approaches at the plate so far.  Swinging wildly at the first pitch in both at bats.

Sparks speculated that Josh was looking away on that 2-0 meatball.

Of course.  He can't hit a pitch away so that's usually all he sees.

Of course, the actual pitch was in his wheelhouse.

Injury concerns aside,  huge break for Donaldson to field that then chunk the throw.

Wanted to turn Marwin around, after he's had two good at bats against Carrasco.

B6:

Altuve...quickly down 0-2...1-2...chops down the LF line, Altuve falls down in the box, Donaldson fields it right on the line, but throws it over Alonso's head.  Altuve safe, but comes up limping...ruled a single...trainers out, but Altuve stays in the game
Bregman...works the count full...walks, Altuve to 2B
Gurriel lines out to deep LCF on the first pitch...another well struck ball with nothing to show for it

Carrasco out, Miller in for the Tribe...

Marwin...from the starboard side...doubles to RF, Altuve scores, Bregman scores as Ramirez bobbles it at the wall
Correa...3-0...walks
White...wild pitch behind him makes it 2-1 as Marwin to 3B and Correa to 2B...infield now comes in...and White is intentionally walked to load the bases
Gattis announced as pinch hitter for Reddick, and

Miller out, Bauer in...

Gattis pops out F4
Maldonado hacking at two pitches in the dirt to go down 0-2...whiffs at another slider 4 feet off the plate

Astros leave the bases loaded, but grab a 2-1 lead.

Bringing Gattis in to face Miller wasn’t stupid.  I did think that Hinch would turn to Kemp once Bauer was announced.

He had 2 swinging strikes at 0-2 but both swings added together barely equaled 1 swing.

Awful.

+ 1

After a long inning at the plate, a zero was indicated.  Good job with a quick, clean inning.

Maybe not 'stupid', but Josh hits left handers well, is hitting well generally, and Miller didn't look good at all.

I wouldn't have had a problem letting Reddick hit, but I don't have an problem with letting Gattis try to drive a run in there.  He got a pitch to hit in the air, was just under it a hair.

I think Straw leaves a trail of glass in his tracks.
He breezed him, one more time!

Raise your hand if you thought in April that tyler white would be intentionally walked not once but twice in a postseason game.

If Jake could push a bunt up the 1B line, they'd have no shot at him.

B8:

Hand in for the Indians

Marwin singles to RF
Straw pinch running for Marwin
Correa...0-2...strikes out looking...horrible
Straw steals 2B
White intentionally walked again
Marisnick strikes out swinging at a pitch that bounces
Maldonado grounds out 5-3

To the 9th...3-1 Astros

Three hits, and two were shiftfuck singles through the infield.  Only mistake was the hanger to Lindor.  Outstanding outing.

When the team could close games with Lidge, Dotel and Wagner I was keenly aware of how ridiculous that was and how I was unlikely to see such a combination at the back of an Astros bullpen ever again. The tandem of Verlander and Cole is similarly absurd and despite the organization's relative wealth of starting pitching over its history, I don't think you can point to another tandem that is their equal.

And both of those sfingles were touched by a fielder.

I loved the bunt idea. Told Mark he should. He hit the shit out of the ball GIDP but right at Donaldson.

Although I would rather see the reigning MVP swing away, I am not opposed to a bunt in a situation like that one when runs seem like they will be precious. My mild criticism was based on the pitch selection. I know I don’t have to tell you this, but the batter should pull it back against anything up - tough to get the ball on the ground when the pitch is above the letters.

Donaldson make a nice snag and the turn was ridiculously challenging but well done.

After the last out in the top of 7th, Altuve stopped at first on the way  to the dugout to wait for Springer. Springer arrived and they had an intense conversation that from the 12th row of section 425 was quite clearly “we’re going to take this motherfucker deep.”

They both just missed home runs that pulled foul. It was nice to see Bregman hit the ever loving shit out of the ball and keep it fair.
"Holy shit, Mozart. Get me off this fucking thing."
