On the Astros' pregame radio show, Jeff Luhnow said if Triple-A Fresno is eliminated from the playoffs tonight, the Astros will bring up "a player or two" before tomorrow's game in Detroit. Some others will be told to "hang tight."

Looks like their championship series with Memphis could run through Sunday (and will at least go through Saturday). I wonder if they’ll call up Stubbs? Or figure that 3 catchers plus Gattis is enough. Stubbs has certainly “earned” it based on his season.

Looks like their championship series with Memphis could run through Sunday (and will at least go through Saturday).

If they win the series, there's also the issue of the AAA Championship Game which is scheduled for Tuesday against the International League champ.

I wonder if they’ll call up Stubbs?

With Stassi's playing time pretty much reduced to nil, I can't imagine they would add to the glut by calling up Stubbs.

I agree, although I thought I remembered Luhnow mentioning a while back that Stubbs would probably come up this year. That plan may have simply changed when they got Maldonado, of course.

Fresno out so any or all or none of Kyle Tucker, Derek Fisher and Reymin Guduan (all on 40 man) theoretically could get called up tomorrow.

Hinch said he probably won't play much if/until the division is clinched.  Said it was more of a "congrats on your great year in the minors" kind of thing.  Also said Straw will be used anytime needed for key PR and defense.

Tucker has to be really disappointed/bummed despite his tender years and his great year at AAA. The LF job was his if he had hit. That goes double for Fisher who must be hoping for a trade.
