While this series of pitches are focused on McCullers deuce from last week, I really enjoyed watching how Stassi frames each pitch, especially on the down/outside to lefties.

This is what your boyfriend did so well.  Framing is about catching the ball towards the center of your body.  Too many guys jerk the ball instead of "funneling" it.

The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Astroball points out that framing stats are tracked and valued by the Nerd Cave and factored into player value.  Good framing saves dozens of runs over the course of a season, so this is factored into the Astros secret sauce WAR for catchers.
