Need a win boys.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

When is McCann due back? T-Fed doesn't seem to be a great option.

B1:

Springer...extreme shift on...bounces out 5-3
Bregman...3-0...3-1...3-2... walks
Altuve flies out F7
Correa...3-1...takes a cripple fastball right down the middle to fill the count...whiffs on a 85 mph batting practice fastball right down the center of the plate. Pathetic.

No score.

Does Correa have the batting equivalent of the yips or something? Why won't he swing at these meatballs?

If Kemp is sprinting from the get-go he's safe.

ETA: Nice play by Haniger anyway to cut it off and get the throw to the cutoff quickly.

B3:

Kemp doubles to RCF and is thrown out 9-4-5 trying for 3B
Springer grounds out 5-3
Bregman singles to LF
Altuve...3-0...3-1 on a 500ft foul ball...walks, Springer to 2B
Correa...takes a cookie for strike one...quickly 0-2...singles off the glove of the second baseman, Bregman to 3B and is thrown out 4-2 trying to score.

So the Astros get a walk, two singles, and a double...fail to score.

Or perhaps you are just a believer in the “cardinal rules of baseball” like I am. You don’t get thrown out at third with no outs....period! If he stops at second it’s at least 1-1 right now.

Gordon lines out to 3B
Segura singles to SS in the 5.5 hole, nice backhand stop by Correa, but no chance at the runner
Haniger singles on a soft ground ball through the 5.5 hole on the first pitch
Cruz singles on a soft ground ball through the 5.5 hole, Segura scores, Haniger to 2B
Seager flies out F7
Healy strikes out swinging.

But the Mariners get three seeing eye singles on weak ground balls to the same spot...cut the Astros lead to 3-2

Yeah, I don't blame Lance for thinking that's kryptonite. It's certainly crippled his teammates.

T7:

Span homers to RF on the first pitch
Heredia walks

And that’s all for McCullers. Devo in

Throw over to 1B gets by Gurriel, Heredia to 3B on the TE1

Zunino...infield in...pops out F2 in foul territory
Gordon...infield still in...strikes out swinging
Segura singles up the middle, Heredia scores
Segura takes 2B without a throw
Haniger...0-2...flies out to shallow RF

A the stretch...4-3 Mariners

Did we ever get details on Reddick's leg problem? I thought I heard something about a staph infection last night, but I may have been mistaken.

Correa is so incredibly frustrating to watch at the plate right now. Strike one was a belt high fastball on the inner third that was begging to be hammered, and Correa just watched it sail by.

Please don't fuck this up.
I remember all the good times me 'n Miller enjoyed
Up and down the M1 in some luminous yo-yo toy
But the future has to change - and to change I've got to destroy
Oh look out Lennon here I come - land ahoy-hoy-hoy

T9:

Zunino...0-2...strikes out swinging, ball gets away from Federowicz, who runs it down and completes the strikeout 2-3
Gordon grounds out 6-3 on the first pitch
Segura...check swing bouncer right over 1B bag
Haniger...0-2...singles to CF, Segura to 3B
Cruz...full count...strikes out swinging

Astros win 7-5!
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

to be evaluated for a groin injury. He told reporters he is "obviously concerned."

Time for the club to put up some serious W's. Next time they play a team that currently is at least .500 is Anaheim July 20.
