Rangers @ Astros, Mothers' Day, May 13
« on: May 13, 2018, 01:32:57 pm »
I haven't been able to keep tabs on the GZ much this season, but I see that Mr. Happy hasn't started any of the threads. Is he OK?

Keuchel struggles a little in the first but gets out of a two-hit jam with no damage. In the second he gets a K on Not Joey Callo, a fly out and another K. He seems to be settling in.

0-0 going to the bottom of the 2nd.

Now, for some runs:
He breezed him, one more time!

Fuck. This feels like one of those days for the offense, against a shit pitcher.

Altuve leaves two on. He has struck out twice on six total pitches.

0-0 after 2 innings.
He breezed him, one more time!

Altuve looks terrible. I assume it is his typical episode of pressing, but damn he looks bad. Moore didn't even respect him.  He is not alone though, you could go games last year seeing fewer fastball whiffs than they've had through two innings.

I wonder if they all get new gloves every year. If I won it all, my glove would have to die before it retires.

Worth noting that Keuchel has looked like Keuchel in his last 3 starts.

I see they replace Beltre defensively. You can tell he's ailing, just not moving like he normally does.

Those first 2 sliders after 0-2 were nice.   And the 3rd one on 3-2was too good to lay off.

Five straight fastballs to DDJ, then a 3-2 slider. It's a tough life.

Altuve just missed driving his as well.

And now Yuli.

Let's put this one to bed.

That rookie debut pitcher was a 16 year vet of independent/ minor league.

Peacock strikes out the side.

Astros give up 2 solo HR and an rbi sac fly.   For the series.

Fantastic pitching.

Altuve has lost 40 points on his BA.

Giving them to Gattis was mighty generous.
