14 Ks in 93 pitches: first time that's ever been done in MLB history.

What a start to his Astros tenure.

This guy is unbelievable to watch work right now.  Must see TV.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Ranking the pitchers today: Verlander, Cole, Morton, McCullers, Keuchel
Often wrong, but never in doubt.

Agree.

I'm guessing that Keuchel will get more rope because of seniority and track record, but if McCullers rolls out a couple more jewels like the last one, the calls are going to grow pretty loud to replace him with McHugh.

Yup.
Another trenchant comment by a jealous lesser intellect.

I am chalking up McCullers last start to the weather and not being able get his breaking stuff to spin.   That said, at some point, he is going to have to learn how to pitch without his best stuff, just like every other pitcher who has had a long career.

One again he could not control his FB. Most disturbing to me was his body language’s and demeanor’s reverting to late season 2017.

This. Better control and better self control are the needs of the hour.
