Saw a rumor that the Orioles might pick him up.

Surely he has some trade value, no?  Anything would be better than nothing.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Yep, but apparently his value was almost nothing.

Well, I guess cash is just as good as money.

I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

Have not been following the postseason trades closely and  was shocked to read "Tucker traded to Braves" as a headline on Astros.com. Had completely forgotten about brother Preston.

And a  Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah and merry Solstice too  to all you Astros fans who already got the best gift an Astros Fan can have in November.
Where the fuck is Toro?

I had a few questions about the Tucker DFA, most of which I answered myself with some research, but while doing that I discovered some transactions that may have slipped under the radar.
Quote
12/11/17   Houston Astros signed free agent RHP Matt Ramsey to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.
12/11/17   Houston Astros signed free agent C Tim Federowicz to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.

Ramsey is a 28 year old reliever who was the closer for the Brewers AA club last year.  He missed all of 2015 and most of 2016 with a lower back injury but returned to strike out 58 batters in only 44 innings.  His minor league stats are pretty phenomenal.

Federowicz has bounced around over the past few years while putting up good offensive numbers at AAA (especially for a catcher) and maintaining his solid defensive reputation.  I assume he is the heir apparent to Centeno.

Regarding Tucker, I like to think that Luhnow made the trade with the Braves specifically to get him closer to home.  It runs counter to the public perception that the Houston office is full of stat-counting nerds with no regard for their players.
