Beltran Interviews for Yankee Skipper
« on: November 29, 2017, 08:04:47 am »
It seems a bit much to go from player to MLB manager in one year...

http://m.mlb.com/news/article/262483668/carlos-beltran-to-interview-with-yankees/

...but Beltran may pull it off.
He breezed him, one more time!

He's had a year as a bench coach.

According to Cashman the Yankess are done interviewing managerial candidates.  Beltran was the final interview.

That would lead one to speculate that Beltran closed the deal. Or they were going to go with one of the white guys all along but interviewed Meulens and Beltran to have a couple of minorities as proof to the inclusiveness and diversity of their search.

Reports are that Boone and Muelens are the finalists for the job.

Aaron Boone is your next Yankees' manager. This does not fill me with dread.

Here's where I stand on this. Aaron Boone has an oddly whiny voice that always reminds me of this idiot my mother's brother married. She's from Iowa. Fucking annoying. So every time I try to watch to Sunday Night Baseball I get assaulted by someone who sounds like my ersatz aunt. Who, as I mentioned, is a fucking idiot. So anything that gets that motherfucker out of the booth and allows me to listen unmolested to the comparatively dulcet tones of Jessica Mendoza or whatever her name is is A-oki D-oki with me.

Since Beltran is now out of the running, I wonder if Houston can get him back to coach 1st?
