Fiers leaving the curve up early. Not a good sign. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm just not a fan of the Astros stealing. They're doing a poor job of it, it puts extra wear-and-tear on the guys, and the bats are potent enough that I hate to give up the outs. It might have been a necessary evil in the past, but I don't think it is now.
Fuck!Pettis is obviously scared shitless up send a runner
Maybe he tore his rotator cuff during the last home stand. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Maybe when he was flailing it so wildly that he sent a runner that had barely reached 3rd when the RFer fielded a sharp liner in shallow right? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That was the shittiest RBI ever. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Will someone please kick Gattis in the nuts.
I do not like bringing Hoyt in here.
Not even an RBI.
Will someone kick Hoyt in the nuts.
why is Hoyt still on this team?
Because they're out of arms. Now Jankowski is on the DL, too.
Two more LOBsters. Fiers deserved better than the shitburger they've shoved down his throat.
Hoyt owes Yuli a steak dinner. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
This is in the running for the worst game of the year.
Why the fuck did Hoyt not throw his put away slider on 3-2 after the previous FB was fouled straight back?
I was very surprised by Hoyt too. Seems like the kind of "high leverage" situation you use Devo in (and can come back out for the 7th).
He threw it the first 3-2, I think, and Healy barely got a piece of it. The next pitch was the high fastball that he fouled back. I told the guys at the cigar lounge, gotta throw him that slider again, but noooooo...fastball, right down the center of the plate. Game over. I had a bad feeling about Hoyt from the start there. Personally, I'd have let Fiers pitch to one guy with the bases loaded. But if I had to bring in another righty, it would not have been Hoyt.
Every pitch he threw during the AB was on the outer half or off the plate outside. If he opted for an inside fastball on the 3-2 pitch after the foul off on the slider, I think he would have beaten him or frozen him. Healy was cheating outside by that point in the at bat, which is why he put a really solid swing on the outside fastball that eventually wound up in the bleachers. I would have preferred the slider low and away again over the outside FB, but Hoyt missed the plate by a good 6 inches on the previous 3-2 slider so perhaps didn't feel confident going back to it. so if he walks him because the hitter lays off, one run scores not 4. the hitter fouled the exact same pitch straight back. I am with you...slider low and away or FB in, NOT FB up and away but in the strike zone.
