I've debated where to put this, but decided this was more in the nature of magical thinking to appease the baseball gods than information.

Just a note to close the loop. Lisa Fain noted to me that pickled carrots are excellent for dipping in queso.

I made her chili (for Frito pie, of course) last night.  It's a winner.
