Ticket Question
« on: June 01, 2017, 11:05:18 am »
My father has the bright idea of wanting to go to the Red Sox game on the 17th or 18th.  The problem is we need 6 tickets, and Astros.com (and "variable" pricing) is only showing $99 seats.

Any other thoughts (other than telling him to skip it) on where to look for tickets without getting screwed?  Top of the stadium is perfectly fine.

StubHub.  Groups of 6 starting at $32 each:  https://www.stubhub.com/houston-astros-tickets-astros-vs-red-sox-6-17-2017/event/9708537/?mbox=1&rS=6&abbyo=true&sliderpos=false&qtyq=false&qtyddab=true&sort=price+asc
Another trenchant comment by a jealous lesser intellect.

Stubhub.com has 6 together in the Outfield Deck II for $42 each (fees included).
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Someone with season tickets may be able to help you purchase tickets.  but that is also going to be one of those black out (dynamic) games which may not allow them to purchase them.

Seatgeek is a decent app. It is the most useful when purchasing tickets to a new stadium because it color-codes the available seats by "deal rating," which is some algorithm that factors in price and distance from the field. When you know where you want to sit in the stadium though, I think it loses some of its differentiating qualities and becomes just another seat aggregator - the $25 bones are a reason enough to use it though and should cover the fees or whatever associated.
