Martinez's homer onto the train tracks traveled 430 feet, according to Statcast. It came on an 0-2 curveball.

So, I've been out of the loop; is Blum just on vacation or what? Several games with Stanton now.

Nope, still pitching for the astros. Cabrera lines a single to left and the tigers have runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs.

Ausmus visits the HPU and decides to challenge. It appears as though the ball bounced off the yellow line.

AJ has seen enough of Fiers. He'll point to Feliz who has been warming.

Runners at 2nd and 3rd with 2 down.

Feliz stays in to start the 6th.

Iglesias grounds out to 1st.

Kinsler up. He strikes out on a check swing on fastball up near his melon.

Tyler Collins bats with two down and the bases empty. He fouls off a few fastballs with a 2-2 count. Walks on a 3-2 pitch after Feliz misses out and then in on consecutive fastballs.

Cabrera steps to the plate. He flies out to Springer to end the inning.

6-4 astros moving to bottom 6.

Verlander still in.

Bregman leads off the inning. He strikes out on a 2-2 slider away.

JC is frozen on a 2-2 breaking ball. Two down.

Aoki steps into the box and singles up the middle on a cutter down and in.

Marisnick pinch runs for Aoki.

Action in the Tiger bully. Verlander has thrown 99 pitches.

Springer is up next. Jake steals second on a 2-1 pitch that's a ball. Springer walks on the next pitch.

Astros have runners on 1st and 2nd, and Ausmus makes the move to the bullpen. Hardy comes on to face Reddick.

Will Harris relieves Feliz to start the 7th.

V. Martinez grounds the first pitch to Bregman who makes the play 5-3.

The Martinez saunters to the plate. He strikes out looking on a 3-2 fastball and isn't happy about the call.

Upton rips a frozen rope into the Crawford boxes to cut the lead to 6-5.

Avila strikes out swinging to end the inning.

6-5 astros. Heading to the bottom half of the 7th.

Altuve leads off against Hardy. He flies out to Upton in left.

Carlos drops a bloop single into right.

Gattis whiffs.

Correa advances to 2nd on a passed ball (ruled a wild pitch) with Marwin up. Marwin works the count full. He walks to put men on 1st and 2nd with two outs.

Ausmus makes the move to bring in a fictional character named Warwick Saupold.

Gregerson promptly walks the leadoff hitter in the 8th, who then immediately steals 2B.  Tying run in scoring position, nobody out...

Gregerson toes the rubber.

Romine pinch hits for poor man's Machado. After falling behind 0-2, he manages to get a lead off walk. Good times.

Romine steals second. Centeno made a pretty nice throw but romine makes a better head first slide to the outside of the bag.

Jose Iglesias doubles down the line to tie it up. Runner on 2nd with no one out.

Springer makes a nice catch tracking back towards the wall in right. Iglesias tags and advances to third.

Collins bats and quickly falls behind 0-2. He pops up Correa. Two down.

The astros save a fuck ton of time by throwing zero pitches to put Miggy C on first.

Luke faces V. Martinez. Marisnick makes a catch in deep RCF to end the top of the 8th.

We have excellent 1 and 2 starters and after that it's just a flock of random 5/6/swingman types.
We're down to maybe 2 and a half reliable arms in the bullpen.
The offense is showing the same danger signs from 2016.

Aside from that... Mrs. Lincoln is kind of relieved that this division is really bad.

He'd be in the long man/swing man/6th starter group.

JD leads off the 9th. He falls behind 0-2 on straight gas from Giles. Strikes him out with a hard slider down and away on a check swing.

JUpton flies out to center on a 3-0 fastball. Two away.

Avila rips a 3-2 pitch up the middle for a single that nearly decapitated Giles.

The worst part about this game is that someone had to be awarded a "win".  In this case, it's Gregerson to go along with his blown save.  I hope he brings this game up in his next contract negotiation.

And it's not exactly as if a young starter is busting down the door at Fresno or even Corpus.
