It's currently being preempted for... tennis.

But it's on one of the secondary ESPN channels currently.

I wonder how many of these "cub fans" at the game today are actually attending their first live MLB event....

Don't worry, it's basically a Cubs home broadcast anyway!

I am actually a Cowboys fan. But I'm holding out for Jerry Jones dying before I really start rooting again.

Also, fuck that shift with a runner on. That's fucking stupid.

Lately I've noticed that far more often than should be the case when I check my phone I see that it is straight up on an hour. 2:00, 3:00, whatever. It happened today at 6:00.

Just now when I turned the game on I immediately see a Cub casually slap one through a giant hole created by the shift.

Also, Gattis!

If Gattis can't make it as a DH next year, he has no place on this team. His unusual ability to throw out runners is more than offset by his inability to stop pitches in the dirt.

No it's not. Plenty of slop-throwers have had no hitters. It just takes a ridiculous mix of luck and timing to make it happen.

Normally I wouldn't let the cub fan bug me but this year I actually think they have a chance of going all the way. Baseball will be impossible to watch under that scenario. It could kill the game.... Although... If they can find a way to epically fuck this up with a well timed error or 5 in a game 7  it could also have the reverse effect.

I wonder how many passed balls/wild pitches there would be in a game if Gattis caught Arrieta? It would be Bugs Bunny pitching to Captain Caveman.

Fuck those ugly rainbow jerseys, fuck those ugly orange hats, and above all, fuck those abominations that are the white shoes.

The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Two runners tagged and advanced on the popup to the first baseman, and now score on the bloop single. 7-0

The way I saw it, he broke back at first. It was a tough play that only a center fielder of Marisnick's ability can make so yeah. Can't put that on him. Bad break.

Or 60% of their starting rotation. The 40% I'd like back are questionable healthwise.

On the popup to 1B?

The single to center. I'm fully aware I've fucked this one up so we can all move along. I'm just personally getting ready for the Rangers tomorrow. I figured I'd step on my own dick a wee bit.

Ummm, most of their guys are young and not making the big bucks.

They have the sixth highest payroll.

Surpising. Young players that aren't FA ready for the most par.  They are in the 2nd largest market so they should have bucks to spend.

Yeah, just to be clear, I was wondering what happened when Marwin caught the foul pop-up. I have no idea how a baserunner on first could advance to second on that.

I'm so glad I'm not actually at this game. I think I'd likely spend the night in jail. I've already been banished to the basement by my wife. Evidently my language directed at the cubs is inappropriate for a 9 year old.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to be the lone Astros fan there either.

There were a lot of Bears fans at the football game today too.

Correa out. Reed in to lacklusterly ph for him. I'd like to think that's precautionary.

Reed really needs to tone up some in the offseason. It would help his swing speed big time. He just looks lost in the big leagues at the moment.

Wish this announcer would shut the fuck up about torque, which he fundamentally misunderstands.

Everyone's talking, few of them know
The rest are pretending, they put on a show
And if there's a message I guess this is it

I was wondering the same thing. His description seemed bizarre. Like he wanted to talk about torque before the at bat and then had to make it up as he went while watching a slo-mo of the swing.

Almora sure "Jim Edmonds-ed" that routine out. I dive for catches all the time just like that in the pool. It's always best to dive after the catch is made. Pump up all those Houston Cub fans.

Are there *any* Astros fans at this game?

We drove over from New Orleans on Friday and caught the Fri/Sat games...

Incredible the amount of obnoxious Cub fans...definitely felt out numbered. And the MVP cheering after Bryant's dinger Fri...made me sick and I gave it back to them a little on Sat when he made an error at third...I started yelling MVP,MVP,MVP...Debbie seemed a little embarrassed to be with me.... but it made me feel better.  I am kind of use to having somewhat hostile crowds at Minute Maid but felt I was deep in enemy territory.

Need to sweep the Rangers...and also pulling for the Red Sox to beat up all their AL east foes...See where Gomez has been leading off...amazing.

Playoffs...Did you say playoffs !
