Springer lead off single, moves up on wild pitch, then gets thrown out tagging up to end the inning. Just asinine.

Springer beat the throw easily but over slid the bag.

Wishful thinking. He came off badly, and was easily out.

Rays load the bases but 4-6-3 twin killing ends the inning with no damage.

Seriously, does Ashby even watch the game?

The runner was CLEARLY tagged before he got back to second. What the fuck are you talking about?

Also, there was a picture provided by some dipshit on twitter of someone with a sign that said "Thank you Ash!" or something similar, which answers my question of "how stupid is the average Astros fan?"

I think Adam Everett was every bit as good.

And, for one glorious month, nobody ever played CF better than Carlos Beltran.

Wow, slaughterhouse in the Anaheim vs. Detroit game: Mike (?) Everett, the home plate ump, has tossed 4 people through 6 innings. Ausmus, Joyner, V. Martinez, and JD Martinez.

As for shortstops AE had as good an arm, range, and sense of positioning as one the Astros have ever had.

I will unabashedly say that Jose Altuve is probably the funnest ballplayer to watch in my Astros lifetime. Maybe not the greatest overall, but man he combines being super talented with having a good time/not being a asshole/Harper.

In what world is Bryce Harper considered an asshole?

The real one.

Yes.  I'm looking for examples of him being a true asshole.  Not of him playing hard and emotional.

How about his temper tantrum after getting punched out in Extra Innings the other day?

How about his coming back out onto the field after having been tossed? How about his altercation with Jonathan Papelbon? How about some of his flip answers to media questions?

That doesn't qualify as being an asshole to me.  Sure, he is loud and emotional - but he was just upset with the ump.  Plenty of guys get upset with umps and I don't consider them assholes.

Not sure what you're talking about regarding coming back onto the field.

You are insane if you think Harper is the asshole in the Papelbon altercation.

What flip answers?  He is great with the media.  The clown question bro incident was a reporter trying to get him saying he was going to celebrate with alcohol after the game and he stayed clear of it.

I think you guys are misunderstanding Harper.  It would be like calling Carlos Gomez an asshole.

All assholes say they're just misunderstood.  I'll settle for saying Harper's an asshole simply because his teammates and other players say he is.  That's good enough for me.

Dude, he spiked his helmet at the ump's feet. That's a tempter tantrum pure and simple. Also, throwing a tantrum that you know is going to get you tossed in extras with almost no bench left is a pretty asshole move.

He played a part in the Papelbon incident. I'm pretty sure that he served a short suspension for coming back on the field after having been tossed.

I don't recall any teammate of his saying he was an asshole.

It's all subjective, I guess, but I would love having Harper on my team...and that's not supposed to be "in spite of" his personality.  In contrast, even though Roughned Odor is a good player I would never want to root for him.  Same goes for guys like Pierzynski and Papelbon.  Those guys are asshole.

That article is from 2012 when he was like eleven years old and hadn't even seen a big league pitch.  If your'e going to hold onto that for the rest of his career, then so be it.  I'd rather enjoy watching one of the most exciting players in the game.

No one has suggested that Harper doesn't have talent.  Quit excusing his behavior because he's good.  One can be a good athlete and a raving asshole at the same time.  The Rangers are full of them.  But Harper is an asshole.  Period.
