Hunter Pence deal
« on: May 23, 2016, 01:49:09 pm »
when this deal was made by Wade it looked like a great haul for Houston. Singleton is still in the minors struggling, Santana part of the package for Gomez,
Zeid waived. Cosart was a big part of that deal and spun off for Marisnick, Moran, Martes who may be the prize in the package and a compensatory pick that was turned into Daz Cameron. If Martes alone turns into a TOR pitcher this deal will pay dividends and we don't know what Moran and Cameron may eventually produce.

The Cosart deal was brilliant.  Possibly Luhnow's best moment.  That whole Pence deal was odd.  All those players (except Zeid) had big value at one point (even though they hadn't done anything in the majors).  Imagine the haul the Stros could have gotten for Singleton prior to 2014?

Dealing for prospects is dicey.
